India Camiel Raw Food Chef
Conversations With The Queen will be having a very special guest India Camiel, raw food chef. She will be educating us on raw vegan cusine and the many benefits of leading a raw lifestyle. So join us for this delicious show. The call in # 917.932.8881 or listen in blogtalkradio.com/poeticenergynetworkstation
Greetings, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm India Camiel. I'm just an ordinary woman in love with living foods. When I was a child, I would experiment with different flavors to enhance the taste of ordinary dishes. This quickly earned me the reputation as the family food concocter, and not in a good way. To say the least, most of my family were afraid to try anything I made. Out of compassion and sometimes pity, an aunt or cousin would taste an India original. But, this occasion was few and far between. Nonetheless, I almost always enjoyed what I created.
Like most Black Americans growing up in Inner City Los Angeles, my diet consisted of highly processed fast foods, fried foods, breads and donuts; I ate it all. In fact, It wasn't until my sophomore year in college that I saw a real coconut in the grocery store. I was simply unaware of what it meant to eat "healthy." Like millions of Americans, I read Shape and Runners Magazines and implemented some of the recommended regiments. I thought I was healthy, until one morning I awoke with astonishing pain in my lower abdominal area. After eight hours of sitting in the ER, the doctor informed me that I had a cyst on my left ovary. The cyst was the size of a grapefruit. He gave me no other choice but surgery. I was terrified. I wondered how I could have developed a cyst so large without knowing. It was bizarre. After all, I was training to run a half marathon. I swam a mile every other day. I wasn't overweight or obese.
But as they say, everything happens for a reason. After the surgery, the multitude of toxins in my body caused severe symptoms, such as migraines and depression. Years of mistreating my body had taken its toll. Plagued with various GI diseases, weight gain and hormonal imbalances, I began to research how natural foods could help, this led me to question what I was putting into my mouth. Seeking real solutions to a lifetime of dis-eases, I turned to a vegan lifestyle. I was surprised by the almost-immediate results and decided to give going ALL LIVE a try - a decision that proved to change the course of my life permanently.
It's been 3 years since I've been ALL LIVE. And I'm enjoying every second of this new existence. I've been blessed to have traveled the globe sharing my story and showing others how to prepare living foods. I've had the opportunity to study under Dr. Aris LaTham and serve the likes of Stevie Wonder and the former Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Stevenson King.
I never imagined life could be dis-ease free. I never knew I could find such complete peace and experience true harmony within my temple. By finding my way Back-2-Live, I've awakened the purpose of my existence - to touch others and play a role in their own healing journey. This is the biggest reward of them all, to see people make the connection between the spiritual and physical through food, enjoying every morsel of the journey.

Our Bodies, Our Babies—Our Responsibility
by Devin Bailey-Nicholas
On the
subject of birth in regards to Black women, there is a necessity to reclaim,
remember, and reignite the passion for art and science of childbearing. If we continue to allow those from outside of
our community to dictate our needs and throw out lazy solutions to cure the
health disparities that disproportionately effect us, our babies will continue
to die and our bodies will continue to be unnecessarily cut on and mistreated. In the United States, the infant mortality
rate is 7 deaths per 1000 live births, lagging behind the majority of “First”
world countries. Our maternal mortality
rate isn't any better at about 12.7 deaths per 100,000 live births.
Now check
this, the infant mortality rate for Black babies is 2x that of their white
counterparts. The Black maternal mortality rate is 2.7x that of white
women. Don't believe the hype that this
is simply due to teenage, uneducated, poor & nutritionally deficient
pregnancies. Unfortunately, Black rates of infant and maternal mortality are at
the same rate regardless of socioeconomic backgrounds. As a matter of fact, a Havard educated Black
mother has a higher chance of her baby dying before the age of 1, than a white
mother who has never graduated high school.
Accordingly,
there are many factors that affect these rates, one of the biggest factors is
stress—especially from institutional and systematic racism. Long term stress due to oppression, prejudice
can effect pregnancy by releasing a hormone from the brain that can cause
premature contractions (please see “Unnatural Causes” documentary, “When the
Bough Breaks” segment). Remember,
premature babies (babies born before 37 weeks gestation) are at a higher risk
for dying before their first birthday.
So, what do
we do? We flood our respective
communities, lodges, churches, mosques, temples, fraternities, sororities,
biker and social clubs with information about birth. We must discuss our options in where we
birth: home, hospital, birthing center?
Do we want an OB-GYN, Midwife, Doula? Do we want to do a free/unassisted
birth? What ever we choose, we must be
informed. Individually we educate
ourselves, so collectively we save our mothers and babies. We must encourage breastfeeding, because not
only does a breastfed baby have a better chance to make it past the age of 1,
but breastfeeding has been also been linked to lower the risk of breast cancer.
At this time, the number of Black women with breast cancer are climbing.
Another thing
our village must do is support our pregnant mothers no matter the age, no
matter how many children they have. Open
the door for pregnant mothers, give up your seat from pregnant moms, and
congratulate them. Don't bring
unnecessary confusion, drama, and gossip to the ear of a pregnant woman—she is
baring life, she doesn't need to hear or see death and violence. Nurture
pregnant and new moms with nutritious foods for prenatal and postpartum
recovery. Visit new babies when families
are ready, not when you want to see the baby.
If you stop by a new mother's home bring a meal, or offer to cook. Tend to the older children for a while so mom
and new baby can get some rest. Help a
new mom wrap her stomach or clean her staples/stitches. It's time for our community to do the work
and be the village everyone keeps talking about, by taking responsibility for
each other.

Her Passion For Poetry Ft Jazzy Sdilhc
I was born September 9th 1978, on the southside of Chicago. I am the sixth of seven children. In 1984, my parents moved my siblings and I to Nashville Tn, where I have resided ever since. I began writing poetry and short stories at the age of eight. Both of my parents are also writers(as well as all my siblings). So creative thinking and literature has always been embedded in my genes. Out of all my writing skills (short stories, essays, speeches, etc.), poetry took a strong liking to me and soon became my passion. After my two children were born in 2001 and 2003, I became very busy with work, school, and of course, motherhood. Which did not leave me much room for anything else, especially not poetry. I was forced to take a break but still knowing that I loved to write and I instilled the freedom of writing to my kids. In 2009, I took my gift of poetry and words to (what I felt as) a higher level. I started performing my pieces live in front of an audience. This landed me a spot as the "House Poet" at a Nashville performance venue. In 2010, I went a step higher and recorded my first song. I ended up co producing(with my husband and producer Curtis Sdlihc) my 1st Cd entitled "Love Mixx Vol.1". But that was just the beginning. Now here I am two years later. I'm still writing, still recording, still performing, and still loving it! I have different projects that I'm working on and have so much more in store for my fans and supporters (whom I thank dearly).I will also be a guest performer at the 1st Annual SpokenWord Billboard Awards in Michigan this month. I have a few social media connections where I can be contacted. www.reverbnation.com/jazzysdlihcwww.twitter.com/mizzjazzy909 Facebook/jazzysdlihc and Jazzy Sdlihc Fan Page

The Preparation
As you walk in,
I can feel your passion rising.
But you’re not ready for me,
See, you’re still carrying the negative energy
You picked up along the way during your day,
So let me run you a bath
And help you wash all your troubles away.
Leave behind all the pressures of life
The worries and strife
The drama, the bills
And enter if you will, into my Queendom
A safe haven
A place of mental freedom
Feel my energy,
Come, lay your head on my chest
Feel my breath as I whisper sweet words of love in your ears
Ease your fears,
Let me stroke your face,
Erase the tension,
Let me massage away the stresses of the day
Relax, enjoy
Let your Self go
Think of nothing,
Not even me
Let the aromatherapy soothe your mind, spirit, soul and body
Allow it take over all your senses
Let your mind be free
Hmmm...there you go
NOW you’re ready for me!
Touch me, and now I want you to
Touch me, you know it’s only you
Who can make me feel the way you do
So touch me and make my dreams come true.
Touch me, you know it’s only you
Who can make me feel the way you do
So touch me and make my dreams come true.
You’re my Sun, I’m your Moon
Ooooh, there’s nothing more I love to do
Than to share my energy with you
‘Cause you give it back to me so good!
Ooooh, there’s nothing more I love to do
Than to share my energy with you
‘Cause you give it back to me so good!
(Oh baby, you make me wanna sing with this sweet sweet loving you’re giving!)
So touch me
Lay your kisses on me and
Touch me all over my body baby
‘Cause when you’re touching me your love for me I feel
So touch me and let me feel your energy
(Yeah, right there baby...)
Lay your kisses on me and
Touch me all over my body baby
‘Cause when you’re touching me your love for me I feel
So touch me and let me feel your energy
(Yeah, right there baby...)
